Whitney felt like her pitch fell flat
I had a really clear idea about the potential of my business. But whenever I tried to describe it to someone, it fell flat. I used to think ‘if only they knew what was in my head…then they’d be excited! We needed to quickly tell a more compelling story about Joone, because we were trying to build an ecosystem of suppliers, artists and customers…not to mention advisers, partners and potential investors.
Cut the fluff, clarified the secret sauce
Having Emma as a neutral third party hear our story and play it back to us it actually made our story better. It cut through the fluff and really honed in on what makes this opportunity really special. I just don’t know that either me or my Co-Founder would have gotten there on our own.
New clarity and alignment for co-founders
It’s opened up a lot of really interesting directions for us and ways to think about the business. Yes. it’s marketing, but it’s bigger than that: it’s strategic alignment and direction for the company. Especially with having Co-Founders, it makes sure we’re on the same page, which frees us up to make independent decisions. There is actually nothing as important as this.
The right message for the right audience
We wanted people to have a strong reaction to our value proposition and who we are. We didn’t want wishy-washy, generic words that try to be the thing for everybody. We got powerful words that will be super compelling to our target audiences.
Super high ROI
As a co-founder, you’re constantly looking at how to best spend every dollar or hour of your time. This is one of the most leveraged places you can put your resources. So don’t wait!
